Happy Tails 2009

Hova

Hova is settling in lovely at his new home. He is seen here with his skin brothers Thomas and Robert who absolutely adore him. Hova also loves his fur sister, Marley, who keeps him in line. He has a huge backyard and loves to run around and play with Marley. He is a true gentleman.

Daisy

Daisy was adopted on 12/29/09 by a wonderful family and their son, who is in the picture with her.  We are told she is doing great, full of energy and the family is so happy to have her.

Wilson

Wilson, now Champion, must have been a good boy this year because he got an early Christmas present, a forever home! Champion loves to spend time in the park and curl up next to his new dad on the sofa. His new home is filled with toys and treats and lots of love. There is no doubt that these two were a match made in heaven!

Bowser

We are happy to report that Bowser, now Jackson, was adopted by a wonderful couple on January 30th. He was welcomed into his new family with open arms and all sorts of new treats. Jackson once bounced around from home to home before someone finally kicked him to the curb. Thanks to ABR, Jackson never has to worry about having to look for another place to lay his head—he is very loved and very happy.

Hi Everyone,

I am thrilled to report my happy tail! We’ve been a little busy, but over the holidays, my family and I went skiing, well everyone else went skiing; I visited my new Gran, Mimi! I have found a wonderful new home – and after my surgery to repair my neck – my foster family couldn’t bear to part with me! I couldn’t be happier! I love ABR!!!!

Happy New Year,

Fox

Addy's puppy Fox was adopted in November and now has a mom and a skin sister. He's very happy in his new home!

Eric

In May 2009, Blossom's puppy Eric went to his new home. He now has a new skin brother, mom, and dad to take care of him. We are so happy for “Eric” and his new family and wish them the best.

Tink

A new forever home was on the wish list for Tink this Christmas, and she must have been on Santa's "nice list"...as she has gone to her new home with a very excited Mom and Dad, as well as a fur brother to play with! Life certainly has turned around for this beautiful girl who ended up in animal control, was taken in by ABR and has now found a home to call her own.

Addy

Little Addy has a home! Addy came to ABR on 6-15-09 covered with fleas, ticks with a severe wound on her face. Poor pup was heart-worm positive as well. After being treated for her wound, Addy settled in for a long stink in solitary confinement. (Crate rest is necessary for dogs receiving heart-worm treatment.) This little powerhouse gave birth to a litter of 4 one day while her foster-mama was out on a walk! {A great surprise to everyone}

Happy Holidays for Addy. Santa came early. ABR's little girl who had been in the system for SIX full months... has found her forever home.

She has been adopted by an active young couple, one of which volunteers for ABR. Addy's new home comes complete with a fur-brother to love, Roger. All three of Addy's new family members welcomed her with open arms & paws. Addy immediately started playing with Rodger and then after inspecting the yard and fence, she went right into her new house. For Addy and her new family this is truly a Happy Holidays Tale!

Sampson

Sampson was adopted on November 17th, just in time for his first Thanksgiving as one of the family! When his new family first met Sampson it was love at first sight. They couldn't wait to get him home and went shopping to get things all ready for him. Sampson now has two older brothers to play with - who hopefully won't sneak him too many treats from the Thanksgiving table! Here is a picture of Sampson with his new family (minus the oldest son who was at school).

Allie

Just in time for the holidays, Allie, now named Trixie Belle, has gone to her new forever home where she now has two skin brothers and one furry sister Molly. She is enjoying running and playing in her new back yard and loves to play with her “skin” boys whenever she gets a chance. One of her favorite past times is to cuddle with Molly on the couch after a day of hard play! She is quite the hit with her new family, and we are excited to see her in such a loving home.

Brindle

Brindle went to her new forever home on November 29, 2009.  She has a very handsome fur playmate named Choco and 2 great skin parents who will take her on walks every day.  She will keep her new Mom company here in Atlanta during the week and then she even gets to travel and spend the weekends in North Carolina. What a great new life!

Apollo

Apollo, now known as Duncan, adopted his new family in November. There will be no more sleeping outside for this spoiled pooch; Duncan has already claimed his place in the bed. His new parents report that he is quite the snuggler and plan to take him on their outdoor adventures like camping and hiking. Yep, life is good for Mr. Duncan and we could not be more thrilled!

Elliott

Elliott went to his forever home on Halloween weekend, and oh what a treat he has been for his new forever family! He loves taking walks around his new neighborhood and playing with all of his new toys. He has recovered nicely from his eye surgery and has managed to pack on the necessary weight he needed to reach his full puppy potential. Elliott can't wait for the day when he can welcome a new boxer fur brother or sister to make his new home and family complete!

Mack

Mack went to his forever home in early October, and you can say he has hit the doggie jackpot. Mack spends his days getting spoiled by his new extended family and mimicking his owner's every move. He enjoys hosting his occasional dog party that usually includes his former fur brother and sister from his foster family. Mack has also been known to break out the now famous "waggy the nubby" dance when he gets really excited. You can say he is living the life and will continue to put a smile on anyone's face that is lucky enough to come in contact with this great dog.

Rox

Rox, now known as Boomer, adopted his new family and found his forever home. His quiet temperament immediately won the heart of his new family. He has 3 new skin sisters ages 6, 7, and 8 so he will be able to give many boxer kisses. Atlanta Boxer Rescue is so excited that he has such a warm and caring new home.

Jade

Jade has gone to her forever home after a scary time in animal control and has two new skin siblings to romp with and wake up with loving boxer kisses! She is looking forward to playing with Zach, the cat and exploring all the wonderful green spaces around her new home! When it was time to leave her foster home, she was standing at attention ready to go into her new, wonderful and safe life, where everyday will be a new adventure surrounded by love.

Duncan

Duncan, now Tebow, was adopted by a wonderful family and will now live a life of luxury with his new mom, dad, and skin brother and sister. His new family says, "Meet 'Tebow' our new boxer dog named for the Florida quarterback. He has been a great pup so far and has enjoyed time in each of our laps and giving us good licks! He's even got stinky gas - he's gonna fit in just fine. :)"

Bea

Bea is now in her new forever home with a wonderful skin daddy who was so excited to adopt her! As you can see in the photo, Bea looks very happy to be in her forever home where she will get nothing but love. She is now Queen of her Castle and gets showered with attention.

Sugar

Sugar...our beautiful girl who is as sweet as pie, has been adopted after completing her heartworm treatment. No longer will she have no one to love and take care of her, she now has three boys and a Mom and Dad who love her very much.

She sleeps at the foot of Mom & Dad's bed, runs errands and carpool with Mom, and plays fetch for hours with her three boys!

Life is certainly looking bright for this girl and we are happy that she has finally found a home to call her own.

Angus

Angus came to Atlanta Boxer Rescue skin and bones. He was heartworm positive and on death row in the pound. His diligent foster family fed him a good healthy diet to help him gain a little weight. The good vets at Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic as well as Beaver Crossing Animal Hospital helped fix Angus right up. After weeks of crate rest, his heartworms were gone and Angus was ready to find his forever home. His new family came to get Angus on October 14. He was so excited to go to his real home that he could barely show off all the new tricks he learned in foster care. After much jumping for joy Angus settled down enough to climb in the car, headed for his forever home, ready to enjoy the rest of his happy, new life.

Iris

Iris found her forever home October 10. This sweet white Boxer girl has a loving new mom and dad as well as two skin siblings who adore her. (One little girl who insisted that Iris is the most beautiful dog she has ever seen!) The whole family went on a pet-store shopping spree to prepare for Iris's arrival. Her new family even bought her a new pink collar to make her feel extra special. She started out as a stray scrounging to food and ended up a pampered princess! We couldn't be more happy for Iris and her new family.

Bambi

Our little boxer girl Bambi has found her home! Her new found fur brother is a match made in doggie heaven...these two are bound to wear each other out with their play! She also has two skin kids to love on and a Mom and Dad who are very excited about their latest addition. We wish Bambi all the best in her new forever home.

Cesar

Cesar the Great has gone to his forever home where he has a fur sister to run with in his very own yard, and two skin kids who are on standby for the ear and belly rubs! A stint in animal control couldn't keep this fun loving dog down, and he now has a comfy dog bed to lay his head on each night.

Clementine

Clementine found her forever home mid-September. After much careful consideration Clementine's name was changed to "Bella". Lucky little Bella's new family includes a stay-at-home mom who takes her for walks in the park every morning. She also has a dad who great to play fetch with! There are also two children, a boy and a girl to play with. Bella loves to give her children Boxer baths and is sure you will never see a smudge of food on their faces as long as she is around! Bella has a Boxer brother named Cooper who is eleven years-old, but can still chase a ball with the best of them. Bella has a warm spot to sleep at night and a sparkly new pink collar. This little Fawn girl who came to ABR underweight gets good quality food at every meal. Sweet Bella has gone from a scrawny stray, to filling out quite nicely. Her coat is soft and shiny. Best of all, Bella's little nub of a tail is constantly wagging.

Major

After being turned into animal control when his previous owner lost his home, Major (now Riley) made his way into ABR where he was adopted into his forever home. He now gets tons of TLC, is learning new tricks, gets to take long walks with his fur sister and enjoy doggie ice creams on a hot afternoon!

His new family has said Riley is a wonderful addition to their family, and we here at ABR are happy to have played a part in finding Riley his forever home.

Bugs

Bugs has gone to his forever home where he plays with his new fur sister Pepper and two skin kids! He has a nice fluffy bed to sleep on at night and one of his favorite times is when he and Pepper share a bed in the evening and snuggle - actually he quite likes to "sit" on his fur sister as well!
They share food great - they each have their own bowls, but frequently swap during feeding time...sounds like the doggie version of musical chairs!
We are very happy that Bugs has won the hearts of his new family...another deserving dog has found his forever home.

Burton

Burton has gone to his forever home and now is a spoilt "only dog"! This lucky boy goes for walks in the afternoon with his Daddy, runs with his Momma in the morning - then crashes on the couch whenever he gets a chance! When out walking his parents get stopped and told how good he is on the leash and how handsome he is - of course he already knew that! Life is looking good for Burton...and we here at ABR are so happy for him!

Luna

Our girl, Luna came to ABR after being discovered locked in a crate with another dog, in a garage one day last June. She had no food or water and the crate was a mess. Things have certainly changed for her! Luna formally found her forever home on August 29. This sweet girl has a loving family, complete with two furless pets (a girl and a boy.) Every school day, she wakes her boy with sloppy wet kisses! Luna is very happy to have another Boxer to play with. (Cooper is an ABR alumni from 2008.) Luna's new mama takes her for daily runs. Cooper and Luna are regulars at the dog park where they keep all their four legged friends in line. Luna has a special mud pit that she enjoys wallowing in. Luna's life is good!

Hurley

Hurley...who in his short life had been neglected and dropped off at animal control underweight and filthy, has found his forever home. It was love at first sight for Hurley and his new Mom and Dad! This little guy who had a rough start to life can now look forward to every doggie's dream...a warm bed to sleep in, toys to play with, a tummy full of food, exercise - and love.

Clyde & King

Two of ABR's finest have found their forever home...together! Clyde and King are now brothers and enjoy playing in the backyard. Clyde was adopted 48 hours before King, so he was sure to show King the ropes on their new digs two days later. These guys didn't start out in life with the best luck, but it appears that things are looking up and they can enjoy life in their new, fun and loving home!

Luke

Luke's new family writes: "Since July 21st, Luke has transitioned into a wonderful family companion. He is perfect in every way; he is potty trained, does not bark or jump, he is very social, he sits and pays attention, and most importantly, shows lots of affection. Our 5 year old loves him and snuggles with him every chance he gets...morning, noon, and night. Can you tell Luke loves this from the picture? We are taking him to training sessions every week to help us relearn our doggie commands. We've been blessed with a kind, lovable boxer who continually shows us how happy he is to have joined our family!"

Jett

Here is Jett with his new family. He and fur brother Beau are having a blast playing tug-of-war, keep away and catch. They love running in the back yard and through the house and walks through the neighborhood and to the local dog park. Jett is a wonderfully sweet pup and his new owners love having him as a addition to the family.

Nick

After getting a clean bill of health for his heart murmer, Nick was adopted to a wonderful family who waited ever so patiently to find out the results from his cardiologist visit. Nick now has a home to call his own, with three boys and two fur playmates, Nick is bound to be one busy happy boxer!

We couldn't be happier for this boy who made it out of animal control on his last day...and made his way into a loving forever home.

Lucy

Lucy has found her forever home and now has a fabulous family to call her own. She has a big yard to romp in, fur friends in the neighborhood to play with, and kids to share the bed with! Our girl has found her last stop in life, and we are very happy for her.

Hudson

Hudson is a survivor in so many ways. The scars on his legs indicates that life hasn't always been good for him. ABR pulled him out of a shelter, had a lump removed from his side and treated him for heartworms. Regardless of what happened to him in his past, he pulled through all of his treatments, giving boxer kisses the whole time.

This strong boy has been adopted by an energetic young couple who look forward to taking him on daily runs and showering him with love. He was so excited about his new life that it took several attempts to take this picture because he was so busy showering his new Mom with kisses.

Mick

Mick went to his forever home on August 1, 2009. His new owner is very happy to have him and had all new bones and toys ready for him when he arrived. He also has a dog park just a few steps from his front door. Two other boxers live in his neighborhood and he is excited to get to run and play with them in the doggie park and to go on walks with his new Mom. He also has a new feline sister! Mick has come such a long way with ABR and now will have a nice warm place to call home.

Zion

Finally - our boy Zion who has waited so patietly for the right family to take him to his forever home, has been adopted, and we here at ABR are so happy for him. This handsome older gent who was looked over so many times, now has a family to call his own...kids to love on and a Mom and Dad who are so excited to add him as the new member of the family...I do believe we see a smile on his face!

Earl

Our boy Earl went to his forever home on July 11th and is now the King of his castle...a large yard to romp around in and a Mom and Dad who are totally in love with their "latest addition". We're very happy that he has found his forever home.

Blanche

Blanche, now named Bella, belongs to her forever family.  Bella “adopted” Meagan, David, and Sophia , her Toy Fox Terrier, fur sister.  Bella, such an energetic and boisterous puppy, is especially lucky since Meagan and David are very active and they are in the process of building a fence for the 2 dogs so they will have plenty of room to run.

Congratulations to Meagan, David, and Sophia on the new addition to your family and welcome to Atlanta!

Sophie

Our sweet momma, Sophie, found her wonderful new home where she is being treated like a queen. She splits her time between playing with her new boxer brother Mack and going hiking with her Mom and Dad. Of course she also enjoys her pastime of lounging on the couch as well!

Gracie

Gracie is doing absolutely wonderful in her new home. She and her new brother Brutus get along great and the only thing they compete over is who gets to sleep on top of their Momma's head in the bed!! They enjoy running with mom and then cooling off in the river. Gracie is also getting accustomed to the kitty of the house, Pumpkin. She often just hangs out by the kitty door in hopes for a peek/sniff of her. This has been a match made in doggie heaven...and we are so happy this beauty found such a wonderful loving home.

Diamond Anni

Sweet little Anni found her forever home in June 09. Anni came to ABR looking quite skinny and pitiful as she was missing a lot of hair. She was overlooked at the shelter because of these skin issues and she didn't seem adoptable. So we took her in and our wonderful friends at Paces Ferry Vet Clinic gave her some TLC (and a bit a medicine). Now look at this gorgeous boxer!

During her foster care, it was apparent that Anni loved to be around children. We were thrilled when this wonderful family with 4 children requested to adopt her. Anni is doing great in her new home and is getting lots of love and play time. She also has made great friends with the neighbor's dog and they have frequent play dates. We are so happy for Anni and her new family and wish them the best!

Nysa

Nysa...our beat up girl that came to us from animal control and went straight into surgery, has found her forever home. Although she is an "only child", she has boxer best friends that she meets regularly for walks and playdates and she is enjoying her new life being the Princess we knew she was.

Cotton

Cotton “adopted” Ursula and Chris and a three year old fur boxer brother, Tattnall.   Chris and Ursula have been patiently waiting for a boxer puppy to add to their family and seemed to fall head over heels for Cotton.

Congratulations to Ursula, Chris, and Tattnall for having a new family member.

Jackson

Jackson found his forever family on June 28, 2009. He has a young, energetic new mom and dad, who are crazy about this pup! Jackson is their second "rescue" dog, so we know they have big hearts with lots of love to give a puppy like Jackson. They seem like they are a real "out-doorsie" couple which will suite Jackson just fine. Jackson (now called Oscar) will have a wonderful back yard with a big tall fence and plenty of room to roam. His new family also includes a good-lookin' boxer mix named Marlow who likes to play! We envision lots of tail wags, slobbery kisses, and boxer romps in this family's future. Congratulation to Jackson and his new family!

Zoë

Zoë's forever family adopted her on June 18. When they met Zoë it was love at first lick. This lucky brindle girl has a new home with a loving mom and dad as well as a skin brother and sister! Mom works a part-time job and has lots of time to spend with her new fur-child.

Zoë's new dad is a cop and already has big plans to introduce her to the guys at his precinct! Zoë loves children and especially enjoyed showering her new sister with very wet boxer kisses.

Her new home has a yard full of frisky squirrels for Zoë to chase. The family has even designated a special spot for her on the couch!

Zoë has gone from cast-away to queen of the castle! We couldn't be happier for Zoë and her new family!

Simms

Simms went to his forever home on 6/16/09 and he is now an only child to a long time boxer owner. He has settled into his new home and his mommy is beyond happy with her new addition. We wish Simms all the best in his new home...we have a sneaky suspicion he will be one spoilt, loved boxer!

Blossom

With every bone on Blossom’s backside and sides protruding, she arrived at her Atlanta Boxer Rescue foster home just in time to deliver 9 puppies.   After several days of concern, Blossom and her puppies were all doing well.  Blossom is a survivor!

One of the first visitors to Blossom’s foster home was Sally.  Blossom was so proud to show Sally her puppies and there was an immediate connection between them. Blossom stayed at Sally’s side the entire evening.  Sally was so happy to see the puppies and mentioned that her heart’s desire would be “to provide a home for Blossom”.

Blossom is now at her new home with Sally.  Sally is a cancer survivor.  Blossom’s new fur brother, Monty, is also a cancer survivor.  Monty and Blossom are fast friends and love playing with each other.

This family is surviving and thriving and loving their new survivor as an addition to their family.

Lady Trouble

Lady went to her forever home on May 31 and is now the younger sister to 2 dogs and also has a teenage skin brother to follow around all day. Lady has a 7 acre yard to stretch her legs and a Momma that works from home so this is definitely one happy dog!

Rhett Butler

Rhett Butler was adopted as an only fur "child" and is now happily hanging out with his new Mom, Dad and young skin sister. He has a Daddy that works from home so Rhett is sure to be one spoilt boxer!

Rocket

Rocket was adopted in June and is now renamed "Major" for his independent streak and the fact that is already bossing around his three year old fur boxer sister!

He is now happy romping in his two acre yard and we couldn't be more happy that he has gone to such a loving home.

Joe Lewis

Joe Lewis, renamed Indiana or Indy for short, went to his forever home in May.  Indy was lucky enough to ‘adopt’ two skin brothers, a skin sister, a skin mom and a skin dad.  His new mom says “Indy is doing great!  The kids are great with him.  We all love him already!”

He is beginning to learn to be crate trained and has already started some basic training with a trainer.

We are so excited Indy found such a loving and caring forever home!!

Wrigley

Hi guys! My name is Wrigley and I was adopted on Saturday, May 23rd by the most WONDERFUL people! They have re-named me Jacks. I have a Boxer sister named Jewel. It took some time for her to adjust to me, but now Daddy says she's mighty protective of me! Guess it just took a little time to get used to having a baby in the house! Also, Daddy said that he's going to take a picture of the new family (me included!) and send to ABR so that they have a picture of ALL of us, so kee a look out!

Raindrop

Raindrop (Blossom's Pup #72), now called Titus, was adopted on May 21, 2009.

Letter from Titus:

Since I am such a strong puppy my new skin mommy, Becky, calls me Titus.  I am a tough puppy and love to play with my new boxer brother Buster.   When I was at my temporary home and first met Buster he started giving me terrific boxer kisses.  I am glad I am at my forever home now with Buster.

This weekend Buster and I went to the park together and had tons of fun.  When we came home we were so tired we took a long nap together.  I sure do like to sleep next to Buster – he’s a great brother.

Becky says I am learning well on being potty trained (whatever that means).  I feel like one lucky puppy to get so much loving from my new skin mommy and my boxer brother.  I also get to go to puppy kindergarten next week – I can’t wait!

Skip

Slash, formerly known as Skip (Blossom's #77), went to his forever home on May 17 and was the first puppy from Blossom’s litter to adopt a family.  Skip was especially lucky to adopt two skin brothers.  Some of Skip’s favorite things to do at his forever home are trying to catch up the children in the back yard and catching sticks from Brandon (8) and Evan (6).  Slash is able to go to work with his skin dad he “adopted.”   His new family reports that he is “AWESOME!!!” and bonding well with everyone.

Lola

Lola was adopted by a wonderful family in the spring of 2009. She is loving life now as she gets to spend her days playing with her big, fur brother as well as her cute skin brother. Her mom says she is doing great and is a perfect addition to the family! ABR is so happy for this sweet, sweet girl!

Irie

Letter from Irie:

My new owners have named me "Penny" for my beautiful copper brindle coat. Since I'm 6 years old, it's easy for me to train my new family on what things I like do. They tell me I snore a lot when I sleep and I tell them to just get used to it. Between my naps I like to show off to draw some attention. Sometimes I use a snorting voice to alert my family I'm ready to play or eat. To get attention, I sometimes use a strategy of stuffing a wet toy between their legs. If that doesn't work to my satisfaction, I will climb into their lap so they have to pet me. Lastly I use my main weapon; a well aimed tongue to the mouth. I think they have figured out that I have a serious, incurable condition of the "Snuggles." I've also shown them my "Snort Dance" when I see a leash in their hands or greet someone at the door. As you can tell, I'm training my new family like a refined lady should. I'm eating well, taking daily walks, and I love my fenced-in "queendom." It feels so good to be loved, and oh yea, scratched around my neck. Woops, I see a squirrel in my new queendom, please excuse me?

Sincerely,

Penny

Nadine

Nadine found her forever family on May 8, 2009. This lucky brindle girl has a dad who works from home, a loving mom, a little skin brother and best of all a girl to call her own. Nadine's new skin-sister loves boxers and wants to be an animal cop or vet when she grows up. The girl was very surprised when mom and dad said that Nadine was coming to live with them forever. This young lady has been wanting a Boxer to call her own for years! The family reports that Nadine is settling in nicely. Nadine even gets to sleep with her new girl. Nadine's future is sure to be filled with lots of love and care.

Murphy

Murphy's Law states that anything that can go wrong will. That's how life was starting to seem for our favorite Murphy. He was due to be euthanized at a local animal control. Someone had just treated this beautiful boy as a disposable possession and let him go. ABR recognized this diamond in the rough and raced to save him. What a happy day for Murphy. Happier still was the day he went to his forever home! He has a fun loving fur-sister who loves to chase him. Try as she might Bunny just can't catch him! Murphy has a loving home complete with a boy to help care for him. He is fitting right into his forever home, like he was always meant to be there. Looks like "Murphy's Law" has changed to "Murphy's Luck"!

Tyson

Tyson was adopted in April 2009, was enrolled in beginner obedience class and graduted from Doggie School in July. He lives with his family and has two boxer sisters (that were both rescues as well) to play and hike with! He also enjoys spending time chasing the occasional squirrel, getting belly rubs, and being his usual goofy boxer self.

Snow

Our little snuggle bug Snow, now Marlo, went to her forever home on April 19th and she instantly knew she was home! Marlo pranced into her new parents' house as if it were out of a movie scene and immediately started her famous wiggle while giving both her new Mom and Dad a hug and a big kiss on the cheek! Marlo is such a lucky girl because she has a huge fenced in backyard to play in, lots of toys and food and a Mom and Dad who absolutely adore her. Marlo had a rough beginning but is now in a home where she is showered with hugs and belly rubs. We couldn’t be happier for her. It was absolutely meant to be.

Jed

Jed found his forever home on April 6, 2009 and now gets to play with his new friend Speedy the cat! Jed has settled into his new home and we here are happy that he now has a place to call his own!

Layla

The second time was a charm for Ms. Layla (now Tonks). Tonks was re-adopted by a wonderful family and now has a spectacular life ahead of her. Before coming to ABR, Tonks had spent her whole life around other dogs and really seemed to need the companionship. She now seems very happy to be in a home with a playful boxer 'brother' and has two skin siblings that adore her. She is doing great with her new family and is thriving in this fun, playful and loving environment. We couldn't be happier for Tonks!

Millie

After her third visit to the vet in a month, (and a very big surgery) Millie was given a clean bill of health and declared ready for adoption! Lucky Miss Millie moved in with a forever family March 25. She now has an entire family to love and care for her! The two girls that she lives with have been busy preparing for Millie's arrival, by choosing a swank new collar, leash, and food bowls. There is even a comfy new dog bed for Millie to sleep on. Rumor has it that both of her new skin sisters have already tried it out, declaring it fit for a princess like Millie to sleep on! Millie will lead a good life, enjoying walks in the woods and trips to the park. Her skin sisters will serenade her as they practice piano and teach her new moves while they work on dance routines. Lots of potential doggie playmates live in Millie's new neighborhood including an ABR alumnist! Millie's little skin sister has already shared one of her stuffed animals (a favorite plaything!) with her. Millie's new "big" skin sister has been waiting seven long years to adopt a dog! (Her mom said, "When you're 10.") And Millie was certainly worth the wait!

Sadie

After roaming the streets and shelters trying her best to find her very own forever family, Sadie (now Gypsy) finally succeeded! She endured a rough start with ABR, weighing in at 43 lbs., but is now 62 lbs. after getting her stomach settled and putting on some much needed weight with some yummy homemade food. Gypsy now lives the life she once only had dreamed of living with a fur-brother to play with constantly and a little boy who absolutely adores her. She certainly will never feel unloved ever again after finding her new family!

Maggie

Maggie came to live at her forever home on February 7, 2009. After some meds and some really good food, she is all doing great. She has a huge Boxer heart and tongue to match. She loves to play with her step brother Roman. He is a little younger and has more energy so he gets on her nerves sometimes, but she is happy to have someone to play with. She is terrified of thunder. Poor baby...

"My Humans really LOVE me they let me on the bed and give me LOTS of LOVING..I get my own cooked chicken and have a huge dog park to play in with Roman when Mommy and Daddy are at work. Every day I am told how much I am loved and how happy they are to have a old girl like me. They love me even though I am little older, I think that gives me an edge up. I get special treatment.

"Thank you Atlanta Boxer Rescue for helping me get a good home! My peoples are thankful too."

Gus

Gus got on the bus and moved to Columbus, Georgia with his new ownwers on March 15, 2009. He is going to have fun going on walks and maybe even for a run with his new family. He already has made himself at home, sleeping on the bed and going in and out of the doggie door. He may just drop in on the Army Rangers at Fort Benning and show them his ninja skills too...a.k.a. the Gus Bounce!

Tulla

Tulla went to her forever home on March 18. This little brindle girl who started out with ABR at a mere 33 pounds left the rescue at a whopping 43 pounds! She will need the extra weight to keep up with her 90 pound fur brother, Bison! When Tulla met her new family it was all tail wags and sloppy boxer kisses! They have a teenage daughter who Tulla thinks will be the most fun to play with! Tulla thinks that Bison will make a nice pillow and thought she might take a nap right on him! Tulla's new mom and dad were quite smitten with her the moment they saw her. The family has big plans to outfit her with the perfect collar and some yummy treats. Tulla couldn't be happier and we couldn't be happier for Tulla and her new family!

Sixty

Sixty went to her forever home on March 7th. She has a new dad who will be home to love on her all day every day and two fur brothers, Scooter and Fritz, to play with to her heart's content. She is getting all the love, toys and treats she could ever want now! What a happy ending for this sweet girl.

Bella

Bella – the Italian name for beautiful - and that is exactly how she turned out. This little girl who came into the rescue emaciated, with a fractured hip and a horrible skin condition, never once let pain or itchiness get in the way of the love she had to give. Her tail never stopped wagging whenever she saw you and as she regained her health and recovered from her surgery, her true boxer spirit came out.
Bella went to her forever home on March 12 and all of us here at the rescue are so excited that she has now found her forever home.

Lincoln

Lincoln went to his forever home on March 8th. This handsome brindle boy caught his new family's eye when he was on the website and captured their hearts in person! Lincoln's new family really knows how to treat a boxer. They will give him lots of love, exercise, and yummy food. Lucky Lincoln! The best part of Lincoln's new life is his new fur sister Gabi! She is an energetic boxer who likes to play. Lincoln's days are sure to be happy now that he has found a place to call home.

Lando

Lando meet his forever family on February 8th. He now has a fur sister and two loving parents to call his own. This young puppy, who had such a rough start to life, only has bright days ahead. We are thrilled he found such a great home!

Elvis

Elvis and his wiggling pelvis have left the building. Elvis, who came to us with a case of the sniffles and was heartworm positive, was officially adopted on 2/7/09. In addition to a new mommy, he's got a fur brother to chill out with and an adorable new girlfriend as well. They were caught kissing each other within 10 minutes of meeting and it looks like it's going to be a nice long relationship. Rumor has it he'll been getting a new Harley Davidson jacket soon so his mom obviously plans on treating him like the king that he is.

Schotzie

Schotzie was formally adopted on 1/25/09. It didn't take too long for Schotzie to win her forever Mom's heart, just a little flutter of her long eyelashes and a gentle hug and kiss, all the while displaying her calm and sweet demeanor. Her new Mom, a recent college grad, is starting out on her own now and is thrilled that she has this amazing Boxer girl to share her life with. Schotzie has come a long way; from roaming around as an unwanted stray, to a cell in a high-kill shelter, to the home of her loving forever Mom. And as an added bonus, she also has loving and attentive forever grandparents and an uncle, too! Schotzie will have a wonderful life now and will never have to worry about being unloved or unwanted ever again!!

Dixie

Our sweet southern Belle, Dixie has found her forever home. She immediately knew that they were the right family for her, giving them sloppy boxer kisses and a wag of the tail that was easily a 10 on the happiness scale. Dixie's new mom will make sure that Dixie maintains her girlish figure by taking her for daily runs. She is a stay at home mom who looks forward to having a new "baby" in the house, even if this baby is a bit on the hairy side. Dad has big ideas about how to take great care of this "man's best friend". Dixie has a warm bed and good food waiting at her new home. Her family has everything ready for this beautiful boxer girl.
Best of all Dixie has two little pets, a boy and a girl to play with. Dixie's new pet-boy thinks she might like to sleep in his bed. And Dixie's new girl-pet has given her a middle name "Ann". She will have other doggie pals to play with and even a boxer-in-law near by.
Dixie Ann is in great hands. We know she will be well cared for and bring joy to her new family forever.

Beaudreaux

Beaudreaux went to his new home on January 24th and is in doggie heaven. He gets LOTS of loving from his new Mom and Dad, regular trips to the dog park to play with his new friends and daily walks...what more could a dog ask for? We're so happy for Boo and his new family

Winston

Winston went to his forever home on January 24th! He has a loving family, a big back yard and as much food as his heart desires!

Brandy

Our girl Brandy went to her forever home on January 18th where she will be lavished with all the attention she can handle. What boxer wouldn't love that?! She will have regular play dates with her new parents' families' boxers. We are so happy for Brandy to have found a place to call her own!

George

Our shy little George went to his forever home on January 4th. He was greeted by his very large fur sibling China, a 72 lb. white Boxer. George was a little shy at first but is now settled in at his new home. He has a very large fenced in yard to romp in. His new mommy said that when she let him out in the yard he just ran and ran. I'm sure he didn't know how to act with all of that space since he spent most of his life crated with numerous other dogs. George has his own doggy bed and a play room with a TV where he and his new sister can sit on the couch and watch TV. His new mommy leaves the TV on for them during the day. We are so happy that George has found his forever home where we know he will be loved and well cared for.

Rocky

Our lover boy Rocky (now Remy) was adopted on January 9th. He now has a fur sister Phoebe and a skin sister Ari. When he first met Ari he gave her a big kiss and it was love at first sight. He and Phoebe have bonded and play all day long. Rocky (Remy) has made himself right at home and loves to sleep with his new mommy in bed. He is in heaven. We are so happy that he has found his forever home where we know he will be showered with love!

Bogart

Well, what can we say...this 3-legged lover who has such a zest for life, who stole our hearts with his huge personality and boxer kisses, went to his forever home on January 1 - what a wonderful start to the New Year for this babe. As you can see he has fit right on in with his family, he now has a fur brother who he just adores to play with all day long - not to mention a family who are crazy in love with Bogart.

Davis

What a Happy New Year its going to be for our sweet boy Davis! He went to his forever home on 1/1/09. After being homeless for a long time, Davis is so relieved and happy that he finally has a loving forever family to call his very own! Not only does he have a doting Mom and Dad and an older Boxer brother to play with, but one college-age skin sister who knows how to play with Boxers! Congratulations Davis - we at ABR are so happy that you found the perfect home!
