Misty Kozette Birch
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of one of God's most unique and beautiful creations Misty Kozette Birch.
Misty was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Athens, Georgia, a graduate of Cedar Shoals High School in Athens, and an alumna of the University of Georgia at Athens.
During her career as souvenir retail buyer, she developed products for organizations such as the NFL, the NBA, CNN, and Cartoon Network. Gift products she developed gained notable recognition, featuring on television shows like Live with Regis and Kelly and Morning Express with Robin Meade.
Misty was loved by all who knew her. Her intense sense of humor, fueled by a remarkable memory for detail and a fearless expression of thought, drew people in. Her genuine love for family and friends made that wit and wisdom her profound gift to all of us.
Her love for dogs, especially boxers, was life-long, raising five boxers during her 22-year marriage to Philip Keith Waldrop of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia.
Misty was predeceased by her father, Michael Hale Birch. She leaves behind a loving family: her mother, Lillie Mae Robinson Birch; her brother, Timothy Michael Birch; her sister, Sonja Dawn Williamson; and her mother-in-law, Brenda Spakes Waldrop.
Plans for services and celebrations of Misty's life are in planning for the Atlanta and Athens, Georgia area in late March. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests charitable donations be made in her memory to the Atlanta Boxer Rescue.
